Paw Paw seedling not happy on eastern plains of Colorado

Paw Paw seedling not happy on eastern plains of Colorado. I shaded these seedlings a couple of weeks ago and now their leaves have shriveled up. I removed the shade from this one and time will tell if they are still alive. So far it looks like I’m zero for four.
